Starting this year, 100% of our iconic straps are now made using recycled plastic - REPREVE® yarn. That’s over 9 million plastic bottles kept out of landfills and put to better use strapping sandals to your feet. In addition to our recycled straps, we’re seeking sustainable alternatives for key materials and using less water and waste in our packaging—and this is just the beginning.

We want those who come after us to have the freedom to explore the outdoors tomorrow, so we’re reducing our footprint today.

Seeking beauty in new places, fromwater bottles to plastic pieces.

172 tons of used plastic bottles are cleaned, shredded and turned into little pellets. That’s over 344,000 pounds of plastic that won’t end up in the ocean, being mistaken for sea turtle food.

Transforming plastic waste intoTeva webbing.

The cleaned and prepped pellets are then spun into yarn, and that yarn gets woven into the ultra-strong webbing in our footwear. About 5,000 miles of it actually. That’s hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico up to Canada—then back down again.

Webbing makes straps that connectyour sandals to you.

Starting in 2020, all our polyester straps are now made from millions of reborn plastic bottles, reducing our reliance on virgin plastic. We’re turning waste that pollutes the planet into something that helps you explore it.
